Multi-Cultural Seminars and Workshops
 
This year’s festival will offer training sessions and workshops to corporate partners and community participants. The Multi-Cultural Awareness workshops have been designed to help participants explore the various facets of diversity in the workplace and the links between multi-cultural inclusion to the expansion of the customer base.  This year's event focuses on two areas Leadership Training and Supplier Diversity.  For more information, please see the session details below.
Leadership Training
 
Corporate Workshop:  Diversity in the Workplace
  Event Description: 
Building a diverse workforce in the new millennium is paramount to the success of most companies that rely upon individual consumers as a staple core of their customer base.  The class covers relationship building, trust, respect and enhanced employee awareness of diverse employees to support team building initiatives.

Community Based Workshop:  Cultural Awareness - A Double Lane Highway
  Event Description: 
The issues surrounding Multi-Cultural Awareness can be an uncomfortable subject to address.  However, the truth of the matter is that many of the prejudices and preconceived notions are shared between parties.  Successful multi-cultural awareness starts with the acceptance of cultural differences by all parties involved.

Supplier Diversity Training
 
Corporate Workshop:  Supplier Diversity & MWBE Capacity Building
  Event Description: 
Understanding the importance of supplier diversity is only the first step.  Strategies used for capacity development with MWBE’s will be shared, in addition to steps on building mentor-protégé relationships between first-tier and second tier suppliers.

Corporate Workshop:  Incorporating Six Sigma Methodology Into Your Supplier Diversity Program
  Event Description :
There are a number of ways in which Six Sigma Methodology may be incorporated into a supplier diversity program to build capacity with MWBE’s, and to identify target areas within the supply chain life cycle to successfully achieve MWBE goals.
